Beyond KICKSTART we offer a number of other employability and enterprise related opportunities at different points through the year to our partner schools.

ONE DAY ENTERPRISE CHALLENGES

This highly organised and engaging day on-site at BP gives young people a fascinating insight into the company.

Engineering Challenge

Delivered in the past with the Army, we are now in discussions with the RAF as to whether they can deliver this with us in summer 2014.

COMPETITIONS

FutureChef

In 2013/14, literature will be circulated by Spark!, but partner schools will register directly with Springboard the national organising charity.

Mosaic Enterprise Challenge

A national competition for secondary school students across the UK, designed to develop and encourage their entrepreneurial skills. Teams of students work with a mentor from the business community to learn about becoming future business leaders, play a simulation game, and come up with fantastic business ideas.   It is funded by Apax Partners and DCLG through BITC.   Spark! are co-ordinating delivery to Hounslow Schools.

Reservoir to Tap: The Network Challenge

Spark, in association with Thames Water, brings to Hounslow Schools ‘Reservoir to Tap: The Network Challenge’.  This is an exciting, award winning educational resource for Schools. Developed by Thames Water Engineers, it challenges students to design, build and commission a water supply network.  Winners from school-based competitions will take part in a borough final.

Young Filmmakers Competition

In year 2 of this three year programme we are challenging the young people of Hounslow to write, develop and produce a 20-30 minute drama or documentary.  The programme is supported by London Borough of Hounslow, Sky, West Thames College and Picnic Films.

SECTOR-BASED TASTERS

Finance Conference

Delivered in previous years in partnership with Satro (our sister charity in Surrey), after a few years break, this is likely to relaunch in Autumn 2014.  This will have many echoes of the Spark! Science Days captured in this video…
