Grants and Donations

Spark! actively looks for new sources of funding, and we currently have several active bids for grants with Trusts and Foundations focused on young people.

We’re delighted to announce in October 2017, we have secured funding from the Garfield Weston Foundation to support work experience opportunities for young people across London. The Garfield Weston Foundation is a family-founded grant-making trust established in 1958.  Since it began the Foundation has donated over £960 million to charities across the UK.  In the last financial year, the Foundation donated over £60 million.  From small community organisations to large national institutions, the Foundation supports a broad range of charities and activities that make a positive impact in the communities in which they work.  Over 1,500 charities across the UK benefit each year from the Foundation’s grants.

We have also received generous support in 2017 from Inspire Hounslow to run Kickstart Express with 7 Hounslow schools, and from Awards For All to run our ‘Connect Mentoring’ scheme. This is in addition to kind support from St James’s Place Charitable Foundation.

In 2016, we received valuable support from the Asfari Foundation (for our KICKSTART programme), The London Borough of Hounslow (Community Partnerships Team), and the Heathrow Community Fund.

Donations

There is no such thing as free volunteering, and every event we run costs time and money. With your assistance and investment, we can continue our work in building a positive, bright future for young people.

Every year we:

  • Engage with thousands of young people through in-school events.
  • Work with business volunteers (from small to multinational employers) to help at those events, and to host activities in their workplace.
  • Find work placements for 1500 young people.

If you would like to find out more about making a donation to support the work of Spark! please e-mail: Rachel.mcadam@sparklondon.org

Whether you are a business, trust or individual looking to help young people kickstart their careers, we would love to talk to you.
